We were scheduled to begin our March 17 itinerary with a visit to the Royal Palace of the Dahomey Kingdom, but the complex was closed (perhaps due to the ongoing inauguration of the new king, with attendant renovations). So we were just able to view the outside walls, which had interesting medallions with animals symbolizing the successive kings.
