Sake Museum (1)

On the outskirts of Kobe, Japan is an impressive museum depicting the making of sake, the Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum. Life-sized mannequins perform the many tasks in illusionistic detail. I'll spread the images over three days.

Kobe Hotel Interior and Grounds

The Crowne Plaza in Kobe was all hypermodern shiny metal and glass inside (these are not black and white photos), but beautifully landscaped outside.

Kobe, Japan Street Scenes

Kobe was in the news in 1995 because of a severe earthquake, but we didn't notice any signs of it when we spent a couple of days there this April. Our granddaughter spent some time there as an exchange student last year, and told us it was her favorite Japanese city. This blog post begins what will be a fairly large number of posts on Kobe.

The tall building in the background of the first photo is our hotel, the Crowne Plaza. We had a great view of downtown and the harbor from the 18tth floor.
