Lisbon is full of monumental sculptures, and some not so monumental.
Life-sized detail at the base of the Marques da Pombal monument, symbolizing rebuilding, which Pombal directed, after the great 1755 earthquake.
A sculptor working in the rocks at the water's edge at the base of the Plaza of Commerce in Lisbon. He and a couple of accomplices were building symbolic representations of people, balancing rough rocks without adhesive.
