Faro is the capital and largest city of Portugal's southern province, the Algarve. Its main activities are business, government, and tourism; but it has an interesting walled Old Town adjacent to the harbor. Like many such old towns, its doors, walls, and windows are engagingly picturesque, with the nice bonus of Portuguese tiles. Here are a couple of examples.
