Portland Pearl Photos: Transportation (Part 4)


Union Depot, through which trains run up and down the West Coast (usually about 2 hours late). The station per se is just outside the limits of the Pearl District, but here we see the tracks entering the Pearl.

The Broadway Bridge is not graceful, but it's functional. It reminds me of a giant-sized Erector Set. It recently got a thorough rehab and repainting, which (as you can imagine from the amount of surface in the girders) took a loooong time (more than a year.)
