July 17, 2018. Early in the morning we saw a bunch of hippos snoozing on the far bank of the pond behind our lodge. Later, on our morning game drive, we observed one of the trained two elephants on the property driving the hippos away from their resting place. Hippos are big, elephants are bigger, and like to assert themselves.
