Apartheid Museum

Our first full day of the Road Scholar Intergenerational Program began in Johannesburg on July 15 with visits to two museums that deal with the complex history of modern South Africa. The first was the Apartheid Museum. As the Road Scholar brochure states, "This beautiful museum gives a balanced account of 20th century South Africa. It recounts the political upheavals beginning in the last century and moves on to the transition from a racist state into the new era of hope and freedom as a democracy."
