Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary

On our way from Cable Mountain to Launceston we stopped at Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary, a very interesting and worthwhile facility. It cares for a wide variety of Tasmanian birds and animals.

A keeper feeding and exercising a Tasmanian devil

Cape Barren goose and black swan competitively ignoring each other

Australian shelducks

Some kind of crake, we think

Owl in a dark, shadow-striped enclosure

Tasmanian wedge-tailed eagle

If kittens looked like owls ...

Keeper with a wombat

Parrot moving around its cage by beaking the chicken-wire enclosure

Lounging kangaroos

A young kangaroo, or maybe a wallaby, hoping for a handout
