First Day in Australia: Sydney

We have embarked on a six-week tour of Australia. In 2004 we had been to the East Coast (Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Great Barrier Reef, Queensland Rain Forest), so this time we're seeing the rest of the country/continent/island. But we began with a day in Sydney, after flights PDX-LAX-SYD. Sydney is, of course, a major city, very photogenic, and I'll be posting lots of photos over the coming weeks. But today I'm just putting up some glimpses of quirky but quotidian things we noticed on our first day.
