Our cruise up the coasts of South and Central America, from the Pacific to the Atlantic through the Panama Canal, ended at the dock in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We got a rental car at the Fort Lauderdale Airport and drove north to our hotel in Pompano Beach. It was near the beach and the pier, a picturesque location. We awoke the next morning to a beautiful sunrise and some photogenic pelicans.
