Late in the afternoon of February 28, we boarded the Silver Cloud.
The view from the deck toward the Ushuaia airport and the cloud-capped Martial Range was impressive.
Our first view of the Silver Cloud's interior, after going through boarding formalities, gave a hint of our comfortable and rather elegant quarters for the next several weeks.
No sooner had we boarded than we were summoned to a presentation by the Expedition Leader regarding our safety and security activities for the voyage.
Giant petrels, photographed from the deck, accompanied the ship.
