Kimberley Day 9: King George River

Tranquil Bay lies at the mouth of the King George River. To quote from our daily "Kimberley News" distributed each morning in our cabins on the Coral Expedition I, "After lunch we will cruise in the Explorer along the mighty King George River, with its vertical cliffs and teetering rocks sitting on equally precarious ledges. Our destination is the King George Falls, at the head of the river, which splits into two separate waterfalls. The gorge leading into the falls is one of the most incredible locations in Australia." These photos, and those of the falls that I'll post tomorrow, attest to the truth of that assertion.

One had the feeling of skyscrapers along 5th Avenue in Manhattan.
