May 13 (Part 3): We arrived at our destination for the next two days, the ancient city of Matera (one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world), a UNESCO World Site and the 2019 European Capital of Culture. It's a most unusual site - with houses built into the rock of the canyon carved by the Gravina River - and I immediately took lots of pictures.
