While in Kerman we visited a couple of interesting nearby sites. The first was the Fortress of Arg-e Rayen, a citadel at least a thousand years old. The buildings and walls are constructed of adobe, which interested me because my wife and I used to have an adobe-coated home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
