Sauvie Island Views

Sauvie Island, on the Columbia River to the north of Portland, is one of the largest river islands in the United States. The Willamette River splits off at the south tip of the island. It has a nice beach (though the water was probably pretty cold) and fine views of Mount Hood and Mount St. Helens. Barges carry loads down to Portland and beyond.
