The last hike on our Rome to Ravenna tour was in the picturesque countryside of Emilia-Romagna. (See the photos from my previous post here.)
We walked through an abandoned farmyard,
enjoyed the wildflowers,
chatted with a nice lady who was gathering wild herbs for lunch,
and took a tour of an ancient castle, now decorated with a few modern sculptures.
