Golestan Palace Exteriors

On our first full day of sightseeing in Tehran, we drove by bus to Golestan Palace. From the MIR guide, "Golestan Palace is the oldest of Tehran's historic monuments, begun in the 16th century as a fortress by the Safavid Dynasty. Encompassing several palatial buildings around a cool green garden, the complex includes the Marble Throne, created from 65 pieces of yellow Yazd marble."

Here are images of the exterior. Tomorrow's posting will be of the interior.
