Just three Portland scenes that struck me for their graphic quality, with no particular meaning or connection.

Resist Covid/Take 6!

Famed photographic artist (and Portland native) Carrie Mae Weems has teamed up with museums and students around the country to produce campaigns of public awareness to resist Covid 19 (which strikes people of color with particular ferocity) through social distancing (hence the "Take 6!" feet) and other public health measures. Arboretum Water Tank

In early January we made an excursion to the Hoyt Arboretum in Portland's Washington Park. In addition to the many species of trees (see tomorrow's blog) it has a large water tank atop a central hill. The tank's dark blues and greens in the late afternoon light struck me as particularly interesting.

Oregon Garden (Part 1)

About an hour's drive south of Portland in Silverton, Oregon is Oregon Garden, an 80-acre botanical garden and tourist attraction. We enjoyed a couple of hours wandering around at the end of December, and expect to return. There were enough pretty sights to warrant two blog postings.
