Despite the name, most of the rock walls in Mecca Hills Painted Canyon are rather monochrome, distinguished more by their structure and texture than by their color. Therefore, I decided to convert some of my color photos to black-and-white, hoping to emulate Edward Weston on Point Lobos. This and the next two blog postings will present the results.
