On August 15 we flew by small plane from Madang to the Mount Hagen airport, from which we were driven to Rondon Ridge Lodge, which would be our home for the next several days, until the Cultural Show. The Lodge has a spectacular setting overlooking the Waghi Valley, and features a beautiful garden, museum-quality artifacts, and a small zoo with tree kangaroos and sulfur-crested cockatoos.
