Karawari Lodge

On August 10 we moved from the Sepik Spirit to the Karahari Lodge, with main building and bungalows seen here at the top of the ridge above the Karahari River.

Chris, our impressively knowledgeable and thoughtful local guide, who lives in the village across the river that we visited to see the sago palm processing.

The lobby of the Karahari Lodge was a virtual museum.

Ferns along the river. (I love to photograph the complex, graceful patterns of ferns.)

The view from the lodge down to and across the river, as evening approaches.
