 Indigenous Towns in Chiapas zealously guard their cultural roots and independence. We went to two - San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan - and were treated nicely, since we were careful to obey their restrictions.

Archeological Museum of Tonina

Misol-Ha Waterfall

The second waterfall had greater height than Cascada de Agua Azul, but less volume. But you could walk behind it, and together they made a nice pair.

Cascadas de Agua Azul

Our first waterfall, Cascadas de Agua Azul (Cascades of Blue Water) was approached via the shops in the previous post. It was more a mountain river flowing downhill over the rocks, than a dramatic cataract, but impressive nonetheless.
