Uluru to Alice Springs

On April 25 we took a long (about six hours) bus ride from Ayers Rock to Alice Springs, whence we will fly to Perth on the 26th. (I'm posting this from the Alice Springs airport on the morning of the 26th.) The bus ride took us through quintessential Northern Territory terrain: huge cattle ranches, dry but not bereft of plants, almost no human habitation for miles and miles. We made two stops, where I made a few photos.

View from our Ayers Rock hotel room in the morning.

Our first stop was at funky Curtin Springs, where in the far distance one can see another huge monolith, sometimes mistaken for Uluru and hence called Fuluru.

The Aborigines call it Attila, and the 19th C British explorers called it Mt. Conner. But Fuluru is the name that will be remembered by tourists.

A couple of hours later we took a break at Erldudna, a gas station and rest stop with an emu farm.
