One of the most interesting little museums we have ever seen is the Mawson's Huts Reconstruction in Hobart. To quote from the web site, "The Mawson's Huts Foundation exists to conserve in perpetuity for the Australian people the unique historical buildings known as Mawson's Huts at Cape Denison on Commonwealth Bay, base for the Australasian Antarctic Expedition of 1911-14 led by Australia's greatest polar explorer Sir Douglas Mawson."
The reconstruction is amazingly accurate and complete, using the same kind of wood and containing as many of the original artifacts (clothing, bedding, cameras, books, canned goods, etc.) as possible. Photographs by the great polar photographer Frank Hurley are on the walls, and an excellent docent explained the whole enterprise and answered questions. Highly recommended, if you ever get to Hobart.
