We started our first full day in Buenos Aires with a morning stroll from our hotel, the Melia Buenos Aires, eastward toward the Reserva Ecologica Costanera Sur, one of Buenos Aires' favorite parks. It's located in the Puerto Madero Este, BA's newest neighborhood.
On the way we passed a squad of window washers cleaning one of the hypermodern skyscrapers in the neighborhood, and took a look into the fancifully decorated Buquebus (Ferry) Terminal by which we'd be going to Uruguay in a couple of weeks. We explored only a little bit of the park, since we had bigger plans for the day, but got a sense of its remarkable trees, with views over the trees to the city on its border, and a striking modern sculpture. Walking back, we passed the row of (mostly Italian) restaurants lining the Rio Dique (home of the Yacht Club), with a view of the historic crane used to construct this attractive, modern part of Buenos Aires.
