Another strong impression (evident in many photographs of the park) is how the wild vegetation contrasts with and frames the many very modern buildings being built in the Puerto Madero district.
The brown gunk covering the canal appears to be duckweed or some similar aquatic plant. The last photo shows it being harvested - probably an endless job.
