In the late afternoon of December 5, we finished our Mendoza winery explorations and flew back to Buenos Aires. The next morning we were met by a representative of Wilderness Travel for a city tour prior to our flight to Patagonia. We first went to the area near the government buildings, where there had been demonstrations for the past several days (and there would be more, and bigger, in days to come.) We viewed the interior of the cathedral (some of it being restored), and then drove to the colorful, working-class La Boca district. Photos from these areas will be divided over today's and tomorrow's posts.
