Walking west toward downtown across Portland's Steel Bridge, just after my wife and I got our second Pfizer vaccinations at the Convention Center, I was struck by the neat geometry of the pipes against the rusty background.

Vera Katz Eastbank Esplanade

Named in honor of a former mayor of Portland, this walking and biking path runs for about 1.5 miles along the east bank of the Willamette River across from downtown Portland. These photos feature some of the grittier stretches.
