July 19, 2018. In the morning we went to O.R, Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and flew to Kasane, Botswana. After clearing immigration we took a short drive to a boat launch, where we embarked on a "boat safari" on the Chobe River before driving to our land-based camp. It was a rich experience on the river, as the photos I will post over the next several days will demonstrate.
Perhaps the thing that first drew our attention was the behavior of a group of elephants on the shore, seeming trying to decide whether to go swimming. Eventually they did.
