July 16, 2018. After about two hours at the Cheetah Center, we drove by bus to the Plumari Private Game Reserve beneath the Magaliesberg mountain range, just over an hour from Johannesburg, where we checked into the Askari Game Lodge. We will stay here for three days.
There's a pretty pond behind the lodge, and in the mid-afternoon I photographed some of the animals as they browsed on the shore.

Reeds, which form attractive random patterns, and can be put to various uses in survival situations.(see next post)
