After the Throne of Solomon, we stayed overnight in Zanjan, then continued driving to the Tehran airport for a flight to Kerman. Along the way, we stopped at the UNESCO-listed Mausoleum at Soltaniyeh, constructed in the early 14th C. The mausoleum's dome, covered in turquoise faience, is over 150 feet high. It is under extensive maintenance.
The ceiling of the upper level of the structure, accessible by a steep winding staircase, has a strikingly different color.
