Hagia Sophia is probably the most famous building in Istanbul. Built in Byzantine times, it was first a cathedral, then a mosque, then a museum, and now again a mosque. I was surprised to see how this beautiful and historical building, now that it has been converted from secular to religious, is allowed to be treated in a seemingly disrespectful manner.
