A major attraction of Gough Island for the penguin-picture collectors on our cruise (virtually all of us) is the northern rockhopper penguin, 99% of which are thought to live either here or on Tristan da Cunha. Perhaps the most visible difference from the southern and eastern species of rockhopper is the greater length of the yellow tassels above the eyes. They share their cliffside habitat with the seals.
