A few photos of young king penguins in Fortuna Bay, nearly fledged but still in their fuzzy brown feathers.
Note the bird lying down in the lower center of the picture. It's almost completely fledged, but still has a scrawny ruff at the back of its neck. Note also a few of the adults about 1/3 of the way into the photo, with stomachs that seem to drag on the ground. This is where they carry the eggs that they are brooding.
