Since our hotel in Tunis was located in the Medina, and since I like to photograph the color and liveliness of markets (and my wife likes to shop for interesting gifts for the family back home), we spent a fair bit of time wandering through the area. Once back home, I turned to Google to clarify some definitions:
medina: "the old Arab or non-European quarter of a North African town";
souk: "a marketplace in northern Africa or the Middle East also : a stall in such a marketplace".
With that cleared up, I'll be posting photos from the Tunis Medina for the next three days, starting with general views and architectural details.
