From the upper decks of the Silver Explorer, we observed various efforts of the crew getting ready for the day's adventures - on the ship, deploying the zodiacs, and rendezvous-ing with a pilot boat that will guide us through sometimes treacherous waters.
On March 20 we began to reverse the direction of our Chilean fjords journey, sailing south from Valparaiso out into the Pacific and eventually to Tahiti. We awoke early, to see the dramatic silhouettes of rugged coastline against the morning sky.
