Portland Saturday Market
A couple of Saturdays ago I went to the Portland Saturday Market (not to be confused with the Portland Farmers Market). The weather was great, the crowds were bustling, the booths were colorful - in short, a great time and place for a certain kind of photography. For the rest of this week, I'll be posting photos from the Saturday Market.

Spiffy Old Cars
A couple of days ago we walked down to the Portland Art Museum, which has just mounted two excellent new exhibits. One shows 100 early works by the painter Richard Diebenkorn. The other is titled "The Shape of Speed", and displays several dozen high-end cars from the 1930s. The colors of these cars were generally as striking as their shapes. Here are three examples.
