The Cocora Valley in Colombia is not just wax palms. It has a sort of feel that would not be out of place in rural parts of the Pacific Northwest in the USA.

Wax Palms in the Cocora Valley
A day with low-hanging clouds gave some interesting atmospherics to these pictures of Quindio wax palms, Colombia's national tree. They are very rare, found only in this valley, and are on the verge of extinction.

Into Colombia's Central Coffee Andean Cordillera
Leaving Bogotá, we flew to Armenia (a city in Colombia's Central Andean Cordillera, not the Eurasian country), on our way to the coffee-growing area.

Paloquemao Market in Bogotá
The Paloquemao Market in Bogotá is large, colorful, crowded, and filled with gorgeous flowers and yummy foods. For the next few days I'll be posting photos from this down-to-earth, very photogenic place.
