We stayed for two days after the end of the Road Scholar Mexico City tour, using the first of those days for a Tours by Locals tour of Taxco, a couple of hours drive from Mexico City. With its mountainous site, winding streets with interesting sculpture, ornate cathedral, and historic architecture (based on silver mining), it's an unusually attractive city.
