Slabtown is a neighborhood in the Northwest District of Portland, Oregon. Once mainly industrial, it is being converted to residential highrise; but there have always been some traditional homes with walls and gardens adorned with vegetation. Here, and for the next several days, are some monochrome images from the neighborhood.
