We drove from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, and then flew to Muscat, the capital of Oman, where we'll spend the next few days hiking. We checked into a very high-end, beachfront hotel, the Chedi, where our hike will begin tomorrow morning. After putting our stuff in our room, we walked along the beach.
The bright white of the hotel building, the more diffuse white of the clouds, and the dark green of the palms caught my eye. What looks like a looming mountain range in the background is actually a buildup of clouds, which led to unexpected rain a few hours later, driving outdoor diners into the hotel.
