Yesterday we drove with friends to Beacon Rock State Park, on the Washington side of the Columbia River, to climb the Hamilton Mountain trail. We didn't go all the way to the peak, because the footing gets unpleasant and the view from the top is not so wonderful. But the forests we did pass through, and the lookout where we ate lunch, were quite beautiful—as was the weather. Here are a few views, with more to come in the next day or two.
