Photography in the High Desert

I returned a couple of days ago from a wonderful Road Scholar program: "Hiking the High Desert: Joshua Tree National Park" focused on the area around Palm Springs, California. For the next month or so I'll be posting photos from this remarkable place.

Our first trip was indeed to Joshua Tree National Park, to give us a taste of the centerpiece of the high desert and the peculiar plant (a yucca, not a tree) that gives the park its name.
