If you were to judge by this blog, you'd think that I spend all my time traveling the world. That wouldn't be too far wrong, but in fact we have spent a several weeks recently at home in Portland, Oregon, and it's a photographically interesting city. So for the next week or so I'll be posting photos from our neighborhood in the Pearl District and adjoining neighborhoods.

Our last stop on our tour around the British Isles was Lindisfarne. From Google: "Lindisfarne – also known as Holy Island – is one of the most important centres of early English Christianity. Irish monks settled here in AD 635 and the monastery became the centre of a major saint's cult celebrating its bishop, Cuthbert."
