Plumbing as Public Art

Sometimes on my walks around Portland I encounter external piping, sometimes with other wall markings, that attracts me by its geometric flavor. Here are some examples, taken on a day when I decided to set my digital camera to monochrome.

Public Abstract Art

One of the virtues of this otherwise not so virtuous time is the efflorescence of public art, or of unauthorized painting that can be seen as art.  Here are two quite different examples that I encountered on a recent walk, one Surrealist, the other Constructivist.

Rose Garden Beauties

We walk up to the Portland Rose Test Garden both to get some exercise and to admire the evolving floral beauties. This day was especially good, and not just the roses.
