Ideas for Paintings
As I wander the streets of Portland with my camera, I often take pictures of patches of painted walls that have lost some of their paint, crumbled a bit, and in general look colorfully distressed. I think that if I were a painter, these would serve as ideas for abstract paintings. Even just as photographs, they have aesthetic interest.

Opening at Blackfish Gallery
Yesterday was the first Thursday of the month, when the art galleries in the Pearl District of Portland have openings of new work, and people wander the streets from one gallery to the next. My favorite gallery is Blackfish, a cooperative owned and run by about thirty artists. This month the two artists showing new work were Theresa Redinger and Nathan Orosco. These two photos show the artists with just one piece each of their diverse exhibits.
