We sailed overnight on August 19-20 back to Greenland, to Upernavik, a town of about 1000 people that is the northernmost true town in Greenland and the hub of the many small villages in the area. We stayed only until about noon, but there was much to see and photograph, starting with the harbor.
On August 19 ee sailed from Sam Ford Fjord in Nunavut, Canada back to Upernavik, Greenland. A day for relaxing and enjoying the views and the Silversea's amenities.
They served a pub lunch today.
The impressive rocks of Sam Ford Fjord in Nunavut, Canada have been coated and shaped by tons of glacial ice, which are slowly (but not slowly enough) flowing down to the water.
As written in the Silversea Daily Chronicles for August 18, 2022, when we were anchored there "The starkly beautiful Sam Ford Fjord area of Baffin Island has one of the most impressive concentrations of vertical rock walls to be found anywhere in the world."
A female this time, I think. Not as big as the male from a couple of days ago, but still a thrill to see.
