LA Museums: The Huntington

The last of the LA museums that we visited on our Road Scholar program in February was The Huntington (officially The Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens) in San Marino. It is older, larger, and more diverse than the other museums we visited, and also more colorful, which led me to forsake black and white for color photos.

Here are three pictures of the Liu Fang Yuan Chinese Garden. Portland also has a Lan Su Chinese Garden, and it was interesting to compare them. I would say that The Huntington's is bigger and emphasizes its landscaping, while Portland's is more compact and urban, with more diversity of content in a confined space. Both lend themselves to interesting photographs.
